Comments Fixed

I forgot to change the setting to allow anyone to post. So now all of you oppossed to getting a blogger ID can post. Sorry I didn't catch it earlier.

PO-TAY-TO :: PO-TAH-TO

So we picked a girl name quite a while ago. But there now seems to be a bit of debate on whether it is spelled.

Zoƫ Marie Carrell or Zoey Marie Carrell

A few people have told us that this is a hooooorible name. Luckily, Bonny and I don't really care all that much what ya'll think about it.

Now it would ruin the poll to tell you which of us chose what, but I figure many of you already know. Nevertheless, what are ya'lls thoughts on the matter?

Not that we'll care all that much what ya'll think about this either.

Common Tern

Well it's been a while, but I finally had a chance to do a little more painting. I finished my Common Tern and finally added the blue flowers to the other side of the meadow. Here they are for your viewing pleasure as well as a picture to give you some perspective as to where the tern is in the room. Enjoy! Hopefully, I'll have a frog to report done before to long.
xoxo,
Bonny

Baaaaa

Anything to distract me from anxiety and money...

Although, we did find out Reka has insurance, so that makes the pocketbook feel a little heavier.

Ah well, back to work.

Not exactly baby related

Well, it effects our money flow... So, I guess anything we buy effects the adoption.

But anyhow, I took my car into the garage yesterday. It's getting up around 70k miles and needs to have its struts replaced. I took it in to get it looked at, and they confirmed it was time for the struts to get changed out. They said it would take a couple of days.

This morning, after dropping Bonny off at work, I headed on to Lockheed. Then, I saw my car drive past. I followed it into the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. It went through the drive through. I parked and walked up to the car when it was at the window. I asked them (there were two of them) to roll down the window.

I said, "Hey, I saw my car drive by and thought I'd see how long ya'll thought it was going to be before the repairs were done."

"Uh, it shouldn't take long once we get the parts in."

"Your still waiting on the tie rods?"

"Yeah, and some of the strut assembly."

"Alright, just checking."

And I headed on to work. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe they were done fixing it and took it out to make sure everything was running right.

A guy at work says I should have demanded they get out of the car and leave them there, drive back to the dealership and ask if maybe they could keep it on the lot this time. If I had thought of that at the time, I would have been sorely tempted.

I must say, I'm a bit distracted today at work trying to decide exactly what I'm going to do when I go to pick up the car.

At any rate, I thought the story was interesting.

Catching things up.

Okay, here's what I can remember from the original blog. Ya'll can fill in the details I miss.

The first post bascially said, we can't remember what all we've told who. So, we made the blog to make sure everyone had the information available and that no one got left out.

Next we posted that picture of Bonny and myself. I believe I questioned whether we looked like we could be a mom and dad, and Johnathan questioned whether that was really us. :)

Then we had all those pictures of the nursury. For those of ya'll that didn't see the original, the mural shown in the pictures below was done by Bonny's mother, Bonny, Bonny's brother Will and Bonny's sister Shannon. They are quite cool and a work in progress. The barn swallow picture was actually posted about a week later, when Bonny painted it. I hear tell, there is more painting to come.

The picture of Bonny with a baby is Exhibit A in a case accusing Bonny of being a baby thief.

The cute baby picture, that some people seem to be confussing for an old man, was an artists rendition of what our new baby would probably look like. You can see that he has my eyes and Bonny's teeth. :p

We did have a meeting scheduled with Ereka (She goes by Reka, btw.), but scheduling conflicts resulted in it being delayed. The second meeting is where the posts below begin.

There were other posts, but they aren't all that important. Most of them were me thinking aloud about finances, waiting, preparing, being unsure ... or what ever happened to be on my mind that day. I'll probably get back to that ranting any day now. And there will be backups this time, so I can reconstruct the rant if need be.

-J

Okay, the backup is made.

I'll make an effort to backup posts and comments at least once a day. Of course you know, if I do backups, it will never mess up again... Just to spite me :)

We met Ereka

Ereka is the birthmother we were set to meet today. Well, I guess yesterday. We just got home.

We really liked her and it seemed she felt similarly towards us.

Like they say, we are trying not to get our hopes up to much. But it's hard, especailly since she's due August 11th. If this all works we could have a kid in less than a month. It kinda leaves ones head spinning.

I probably should get around to buying that matress for the crib. : )

I copied some posts.

I copied the important posts back over to this one. They are below. I'm still a touch annoyed with blogger.com, but it's a free service, so what can ya do.

I'll try to get over my distaste for it and post something more meaningful in a bit.

I'm gonna make a backup of what's here now...

Old pics

I'm going to put as many of the pictures as I can find, from the previous blog, in this post.

Here's the word

We currently have a tenative meeting with a birthmother set up for next Monday (July 18th) at 6:30pm. It is still tenative and we will update ya'll.

Blogs come and blogs go.

Well, for those of you that don't know...

Our original blog at http://justinandbonny.blogspot.com died. We briefly used http://bonnyandjustin.blogspot.com but have recently revived this one. I didn't have a backup, so I won't be able to recreate what was there. I'm sorry. I will make backups this time.
