Overshadowed.

Well, the birthday boy had his birthday a bit overshadowed by my cousins wedding, but he really enjoyed visiting and the gifts he got on the trip. (A lot of balls and a bat with which to whack them.)

I fixed him up with a new ticker. I was thinking a space theme this time.

ROCK ON!!!

So, we're driving home from church, and to pass the time me and the kids are singing. We sing Old MacDonald, ABC's, and other kid songs. I'm ready to stop so we do our big finish. . . e - i - E - I - OOOOOOOO!!! I figure the kids will probably keep singing without me, so I settle in to listen to what my little songbirds will serenade me with. The sweet sound of babies singing drifts to the front of the van. . .
We will, we will wock-ew! We will, we will wock-ew!
Clapping and stomping ensue.
I think I have Annie to thank for this one.

BOO!

A bonus picture to tide you over till the uber-cuteness that will be the kids Halloween costumes. You'll have to wait until Halloween for that pic.

These are the Halloween shirts they got, at their birtday party, from the Gibsons.

P.S. Jason's glows in the dark!

If you don't know

For those who haven't seen them yet, here is a picture of the pews I recently aquired. The guy I got them from said he got them from a Baptist church(i forget the name) that was renovating. After all, they'd had these pews for 80-some years. They're not as dark as they seem in the picture. If you look where there is light hitting the back one, you can get a better idea of the wood color. They have a slight curve to them as well. Also, for the curious, one will be at the dining room table and I'm undecided on the future home of the second one.

A Conversation

Jason: Mommy, a bow

Bonny: a what?

Jason: a bow

Bonny: a bow?

Jason: (insistently) a bow... a bow... bow

Bonny: I don't understand what you want, baby

Jason: (points toward the kitchen) a bow!

Bonny: a Bowl?

Jason: a bow. A bow-a-tueties

Bonny: a bowl of cookies?!?

Jason:(affermativly) a bow-a-tueties

Bonny: You can't have a bowl of cookies for breakfast, Jason. Go eat your toast.

A funny thing and a cake

So, Jason has developed a new routine. First thing in the morning he desperatly wants to get dressed for the day as quickly as possible (shoes and everything). If we go anywhere (as we often do) the second we get home all the clothes must immediatly be removed down to just a diaper. Why, you ask? All I can say is that Jason is learning lots of interesting things from his dad.

* * * * * * * *
I made this cake for a baby shower I went to today. I thought it turned out pretty good, so I decided to share it. The nursery theme is by Lambs & Ivy and is called Secret Garden. The design is lifted straight off of the crib quilt.

Epiphany

There is nothing quite so funny as a 2 year old having an epiphany.

So there we were eating breakfast and watching cartoons like most mornings. I was feeding them yogurt (not feeling like cleaning up the mess of them feeding it to themselves). OH NO! The yogurt has all been consumed. I go get another. OH NO! They finish it off as well. Zoë turns to me with her mouth open waiting for more. "All gone" I say showing her the empty container. "Oh" says Zoë turning to leave. Well, she makes it about halfway across the room when suddenly she whirls around with a look of realization on her face and points to the fridge. "MOM!", she says excitedly, "THERE"S MORE!"

I was to busy laughing to answer her.

Like a weed.

Well, Jason's taller than Zoë. We don't really measure them often, but Bonny noticed that he was taller. So, she measured him. He's about 35 inches. They say that you will end up being twice the height you were on your second birthday. So, it's looking like he's going to be around 6 foot. Zoë was around 33 inches on her birthday. So, she'll be around 5'6". Pretty average I suppose.
