Disappointing...

My poor son. He's 17 months old. He was invited to an Easter party and everyone ran out to hunt the eggs. There were about twenty eggs per kid and he got two. Once back in the house a few eggs were donated to his cause, and he got a prize. So, no, that isn't the sad part.

The sad part was the next day, Sunday. We had an Easter egg hunt in our front yard. We let the kids dye eggs, and he thought it was funny that the eggs came out different colors. Then his mom went outside to hide them and the kids came out. Alas, yesterday's eggs were plastic and had candy in them. So, when He found an egg (that he himself had helped dye), he sat down in the grass, gripped it extra hard and got the two "halves" apart.

You've never seen a more disappointed look than him expecting candy and instead submerging this thumbs two knuckles deep into hard boiled yolk.

THIS WAS A DRAMATIZATION...

Bonny pointed out to me that this story is not entirely historically accurate. Well, that's because the story was not originally meant to be accurate. You might note that it starts out "My poor son." rather than "Poor Jason" Well, I posted that story on another website (as a story) and just copied it here.

Bonny and I did not see him acutally break into the egg. He "found" the egg inside before eggs were hidden. But he did break it in half like a plastic egg.

I should have reread it for context before posting it here.

Sorry.
